Mark Zuckerberg is preparing for the Lunar New Year on Monday by dusting off his Mandarin skills.
The Facebook CEO spoke Mandarin Chinese in a video wishing his followers “happiness, health and good fortune” in the year of the monkey. Joined by his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, and 2-month-old daughter Maxima, Zuckerberg detailed Facebook’s celebrations for the holiday.
“Priscilla and I are very excited to celebrate out first Lunar New Year with Max,” Zuckerberg, 31, said.
He continued, “Last night at Facebook, we hosted our annual Lunar New Year celebrations. This year, we have the honor of hosting famous chefs from China representing many different cuisines for everyone at Facebook to experience. My favorite was duck!”

Chan, 30, said that the couple also hosted members of their family to enjoy a “reunion dinner” on Friday.
“This is also a meaningful holiday for Max because we have chosen her Chinese name. Her name is Chen Mingyu,” Zuckerberg revealed. “Chen after her mother’s family name and Mingyu represents our hope for a brighter tomorrow for the world.”
Throughout the clip, tiny Max – who was wearing a mini embroidered blouse – yawned and cooed, much to her parents’ excitement.
“From our little family to yours, we wish you health and prosperity in the New Monkey Year,” Zuckerberg concluded, before adorably asking Max, “You think my Chinese is bad?”
