Public Health Agency of Canada claims to debunk coronavirus spy reports

Theresa Tam, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada

The Public Health Agency of Canada says there's no connection between the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg, two scientists who were escorted out of the building last summer, and the coronavirus outbreak in China.
The agency claims that the stories stating that the scientists were Chinese spies and that they smuggled the virus to a lab in Wuhan last year have been spreading on social media platforms .
A spokesman for Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada says there is no factual basis for the claims.
