26 JAN DRAGON BALL GALA 2014 LAUNCHES IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO

DRAGON BALL GALA 2014 LAUNCHES IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO

The first Dragon Ball Gala was held in 1987 and today marked its quarter century milestone just as Balmoral Multicultural Marketing celebrates its 25th year.
Held annually to benefit seniors in the Greater Toronto Area, the Dragon Ball event attracts some of the wealthiest members of Toronto’s communities for a great cause.
Money raised from Dragon Ball goes to the Yee Hong Community Wellness Centre.
Yee Hong is Ontario’s largest non-profit, long-term care provider, with four Geriatric Care Centres located in the GTA.  The centres provide culturally appropriate care to all residents while operating seniors programs in many locations in the GTA.
Their fundamental belief is that all seniors should have access to the quality of care they deserve — the quality that would help them live with dignity. That quality includes physical, cultural and spiritual aspects. Currently many of our community based programs, especially for those who are on our various waiting lists, are unfunded and require Yee Hong’s own resources.
The Dragon Ball was attended by over 1000 guests and over $1 million was raised.
“Attending this is seen as a honour as we are able to spend a nice evening and at the same time, knowing our donation was going towards the care of elders in need,” said Sharifa Khan, Balmoral’s president and CEO.
