P15-M high-grade shabu seized in QC sting
MANILA, Philippines - Police officers confiscated 10 kilos of shabu, with a street value of P15 million, from a Chinese man during a bust in Quezon City yesterday afternoon.
Yesterday’s transaction followed another sting that led policemen all the way to Tarlac on Thursday, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said.
Zhen Xu, 30, of Binondo, Manila yielded high-grade shabu packed in plastic bags on the backseat of his Toyota Vios, parked at a fastfood restaurant at Philcoa at around 2 p.m.
Senior Inspector Roberto Razon, who heads the QCPD’s anti-drug unit, said policemen arrested Zhen for the sale of around a kilo of shabu.
Albano said policemen seized nine more kilos of shabu in his car. Each kilo is estimated to cost around P1.5 million.
According to Albano, yesterday’s sting stemmed from a transaction that started along Regalado Avenue in North Fairview. The one dealing with QCPD operatives suggested that the transaction be made in Tarlac for a larger amount of shabu.
The first bust happened in Capas, Tarlac on Thursday afternoon, leading to the arrest of Ali Tocalo and his 16-year-old son. The first two suspects yielded 500 grams of shabu, Albano said.
The Tarlac operation was followed by another transaction, which led policemen to Zhen.
