Clark to run in Hong Kong

She may on the other side of the world, but Premier Christy Clark will still be taking part in the Terry Fox Run.

Clark has announced she will be participating in the Annual Terry Fox Run in Hong Kong during her upcoming trade mission. The Terry Fox Run in Hong Kong will take place on Nov. 7 and is expected to have more than 1,000 participants of all ages, including members of the Canadian business community.

“Being able to participate in perhaps the most singularly British Columbian event in Hong Kong shows just how deep our ties are,” said Clark. “We share a special bond that reaches well past our growing economic ties – these types of cultural exchanges are what being a British Columbian is all about.”

The upcoming trade mission will be the Clark's third to China, including stops in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, in addition to Hong Kong. A key focus of the trade mission is to highlight the immense benefits of cultural exchange between British Columbia and China.

The mission will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the B.C.-Guangdong Sister Province agreement and promote exports in key sectors such as liquefied natural gas, agrifoods, clean technology and information and communications technology.
