A US security group has criticised the State Department for buying 15,000 laptops made China, as it fears these could be used to spy remotely on US government workers.
The US-China Economic Security Review Commission believes the 15,000 Lenovo laptops could come with handy pre-installed "Backdoor" spying software. Lenovo bought IBM's personal computer division in 2005,however the laptops are assembled in Carolina and Mexico.
