Is the Chinese poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens racist?

The Chinese promotional poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is being criticised for sidelineing a black actor.
John Boyega, who plays Finn, one of Episode VII's new main characters, has been made much smaller on the Chinese poster compared to the US and European posters.

Oscar Isaac, who is cast as rebel pilot Poe Dameron, and Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o, who plays alien pirate Maz Kanata, have been cut out of the promo poster for China altogether. So has Chewbacca.
In a statement unrelated to the portrayal of Finn's character, general manager of the Walt Disney Company China John Hsu said: "We are thrilled to bring Star Wars: The Force Awakens to China on January 9.
"We're excited to be rolling out our marketing campaign and to connect with new fans in China through Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
