We are grateful for the excellent work of all the volunteers and OCCA Backstage actors, performers and donations rewards here. We are especially grateful to several Chinese immigrant predecessors, Mr. Cai Hongxi, Mr. Luo Weiqing and皮湘Ms. Wen.They donated historical materials for booth volunteer work and will reward donated to OCCA.Several predecessors set us the example of selfless contribution to society. |

The United Way of the Central / South Okanagan Youth special grants have been paid $ 7,300 Canadian dollars to the six applicant . Joint donor grants by TELUS, Interior Savings Credit Union and the United Way. The six youth groups selected from 18 applicants in the Central Okanagan. They will carry out various community projects to improve the community they belong to. These projects will be carried out within the next eight months. Performing at Village at Smith Creek nursing homes held to honor the importance of the elderly in Chinese culture. Although the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Dragon occurs every 12 years, the water every 60 years to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.

 | Kelowna first Mid-Autumn Festival party
OCCA on September 10, 2011 in Rutland Centinnial Hall Kelowna, held the first Mid-Autumn Festival party. Every year since August 15 Mid-Autumn Festival originated in China, popular in East Asian countries. In China, the Mid-Autumn Festival is the second largest after the Spring Festival, a traditional festival. A typical family reunion celebration, making and tasting moon cake, moon and tell stories. On this free family-oriented party, OCCA also provides interactive activities including traditional Chinese dance, poetry readings and musical instruments such as stage performances, as well as calligraphy, tai chi, Chinese chess and so on. |
