Mr. ZHANG Ping, the Newly Appointed Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Visited the CI-USP

On March 6, 2015, at the invitation of President Rajesh Chandra of the University of the South Pacific (USP), Mr. ZHANG Ping, the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, attended the Chinese Movie Reception held by the Confucius Institute at the University of the South Pacific (CI-USP).
President Rajesh Chandra made the welcome speech, introduced the USP and the CI-USP, and acknowledged the Chinese government, Chinese Embassy in Fiji, Hanban/Confucius Institute headquarters and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications for their tremendous support to the CI-USP.
Mr. ZHANG Ping addressed that the USP is a premier higher education institute in the South Pacific region for its great contributions in educating high-end personnel with such backgrounds as culture, sci-tech, trade and humanities to the region. He was satisfied with the CI-USP’s achievements in promoting Chinese language, culture and helping Fijians and other South Pacific countries’ people understand contemporary China well. He then visited the CI-USP accompanied by President Rajesh Chandra, Ms. Joan Yee and Mr. LI Denggui, the Director and Chinese Director of the CI-USP.
