Doctor stabbed to death in China hospital

HANGZHOU, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- A doctor was killed and two others injured at a hospital in east China's Zhejiang Province on Friday.
Lian, 33, stabbed the doctors as they worked in the ear, nose and throat department of the No.1 People's Hospital in Wenling City, said the city government.
Dr. Wang died despite efforts to save him and another was seriously injured . A third doctor suffered only minor injuries, according to hospital sources. Both are being treated in the hospital.
The suspect, a native of Wenling, was unhappy with a procedure he underwent at the hospital and has been detained by police.
An investigation is underway.
Li Bin, the minister in charge of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China has condemned the attack on medical practitioners and expressed his condolences to the victim's family, according to a statement posted on the commission's website.
Li also urged the hospital to cooperate with the police to bring the criminal to justice.
The commission has sent investigators to the province and urged hospitals to boost security and improve the mechanism for settlement of disputes with patients.
