Shapiro: On S****ing in Sarah Palin's Mouth

By Ben Shapiro
On Friday evening, MSNBC's Martin Bashir, a man known largely for interviewing Michael Jackson back in 2003, made a name for himself in a new way: He stated that former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin deserved to have someone "p*ss" and "s***" in her mouth. The repulsive comments came on the heels of Palin's statement that racking up debt to China would result in the enslavement of future generations to a foreign power. Bashir read a long passage from sadistic slave owner Thomas Thistlewood, who forced slaves to urinate and defecate on each other. "She confirms that if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, then she would be the outstanding candidate," Bashir concluded.
The blowback was immediate. My organization, TruthRevolt, launched a petition that quickly gathered thousands of signatures against Bashir. Even members of the leftist media were supposedly stunned by his words. Politico's Dylan Byers wrote of MSNBC, "The network has taken quite a few steps backward -- or rather, downward, to the bottom of the barrel." Mediaite.com's Joe Concha wrote, "Could you imagine if Neil Cavuto or Jake Tapper, who occupy the same time slot on Fox and CNN, respectively, suggested anyone s*it in anyone's mouth on national television, as Bashir did last week?"
Bashir quickly apologized. But he was not fired. MSNBC tweeted out his segment on Palin. It was still available to view online as of this printing.
And that wasn't even MSNBC's first debacle of the week.
On Thursday, TMZ reported that actor and MSNBC host Alec Baldwin had confronted a photographer on the streets of New York, calling him a "c***-sucking f*g." Baldwin initially denied that he had used the word "f*g," saying instead that he had said "fathead." Eventually, he, too, apologized -- though not before anti-bullying advocate and gay sex columnist Dan Savage said that Baldwin's use of the homophobic slur was fine, so long as he remained pro-same-sex marriage. MSNBC ended up suspending Baldwin, thanks in large part to our efforts at TruthRevolt; it is unclear if he will return to the airwaves.
This, then, is MSNBC's lineup: a man who suggests vacating bowel in the mouth of a prominent Republican woman; a man who regularly uses anti-gay slurs in public; a radio host, Ed Schultz, who has called another female radio host a "talk slut"; a race-baiting shakedown artist, Al Sharpton, who has referred to Jews as "diamond merchants," used the word "f*ggot" and slandered an innocent man for a rape that never took place; a host, Chris Matthews, who thinks that the words "we," "Chicago," and "black hole" are racist when used by Republicans; and a weekend host, Melissa Harris-Perry, who has worn tampon earrings to celebrate abortion.
And yet the advertisers on MSNBC are all major corporate sponsors -- as opposed to the advertisers on Fox News, which in large part are smaller businesses, despite the channel's high ratings.
Leftist garbage is saleable and acceptable in a world dominated by conservatives who refuse to fight back. The media portray Fox News and MSNBC as mirror images of one another, but that's clearly false -- the lineup of Fox News has nothing like the disgusting material regularly emanating from MSNBC. But Fox News is the channel regularly subjected to boycotts.
The answer for conservatives is to get active. Mutually assured destruction may be ugly, but it has prevented World War III for 70 years. The same holds true in the media. Those who sin must be called out. And those who sponsor those sinners must be made to pay a price by outraged Americans.
