Oily Mess
By Mike Priaro, Calgary Herald September 22, 2012
Two-thirds of production and profits from the oilsands are already owned by foreign entities.
Do we really need to take another step to increase that to 100 per cent?
Harper's market-forces policy is misguided and Alberta's encouragement of foreign investment works against any "Canadian Energy Strategy."
On a side note, bravo CSIS! (never thought I'd say that) for announcing, on the same day that Nexen shareholders approved the Chinese takeover (and why wouldn't they sell out their country for a 60 per cent share price premium?), that national security is at risk in the course of such deals.
