Are Chinese people taking over Canada?

This isn't meant as a racist insinuation of any sort (I'm Chinese myself), but the number of Chinese (especially from mainland China) seems to be rapidly increasing. I read a news article (forget the source) that said by 2030 Toronto's Chinese population will grow from 0.55 million to 1.1 million and Vancouver's will go from 0.35 million to 0.8 million. There also seems to be rapid growth in smaller cities like Calgary, Ottawa, Waterloo, and Hamilton.

There also seems to be a growing number of Chinese people in all levels of government, with my electoral district featuring Chinese candidates for all the major parties at federal and provincial elections. Demographically, the population of my riding/electoral district is 47% Chinese with White people being the second-largest "ethnic" group at 21%. Of course this is an extreme case, but it does show the huge number of Chinese people already in Canada.
