Police in eastern China have busted a sizable drug-trafficking network in multiple raids across Zhejiang and several other provinces, involving a large number of college students and teachers.
Ye Wangqing is the deputy director of the Public Security Bureau of Wenzhou city.

"According to our prelimary investigation, there are colleges in more than a dozen provinces involved, with both teachers and students taking part."

According to the police, drug dealers used online shopping platforms to sell drugs, most of which were disguised as tea and food products.

The drugs were transported from Canada and then sold by drug dealers based in Shandong.

An unnamed police source from Wenzhou says the main suspect, surnamed Sun, was a teacher at a college in Shandong.

"Our main suspect, surnamed Sun taught at a local college. He himself knows marijuana well and planted several at home"

So far 23 suspects have been arrested and more than 200 kg of drug, mostly marijuana, has been seized by the police.

Many drug addicts detained by police are said to be college students.

Further investigation is underway.
