Removal of Foreign Criminals Act on June 20. The act will make it easier
to remove criminals already in Canada, make it harder for people who
may pose a risk to Canada to gain entry, while removing barriers for
genuine visitors to come. (Matthew Little/The Epoch Times)
“The Harper Government is putting a stop to foreign criminals relying on endless appeals in order to delay their removal from Canada during which time they continue to terrorize innocent Canadians,” said Kenney.
“Canadians are generous and welcoming people, but they have no tolerance for criminals and fraudsters abusing our generosity.”
Kenney has been under fire from the opposition this week for removing special health benefits granted to refugees.
Kenney said the cuts mean refugees will not get better health service than other Canadians, while opposition parties say the additional treatment is often necessary given the troubling circumstances from which some refugees have fled.
