JACINDA Ardern is facing mounting criticism as New Zealand will remain closed from the world indefinitely, leaving foreigners unable to enter the country.

Quarantine in the nation will also be reduced from 14 days to seven days in November.

But New Zealand has been facing intense restrictions in recent months, as the country steps back from their Zero-Covid strategy.

The city of Auckland has been in lockdown for a number of weeks, and will remain so until the end of the month.

Despite the tight restrictions, the government has acknowledged that their citizens may be missing loved ones due to the restrictions.

COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said: “We are also very aware of the pressure that's been building at the border as the world begins to reconnect, and the increasing numbers of New Zealanders here and abroad who want to connect with their loved ones.”

A number of countries have joined New Zealand in abandoning their plan for Zero-Covid.

Australia and Singapore have both joined them in stopping plans to completely eradicate Covid from society.

Jacinda Ardern was also blasted for her decision to split the society of New Zealand into two tiers: vaccinated and unvaccinated.

From this, the policies would mean those who are unvaccinated would have far fewer freedoms than those who have had the vaccine.

But the 41-year-old was met by a barrage of tweets about these plans to divide their citizens.

Amy Walsh highlighted how they believed it was more than a case of doing it on the basis of the virus.
