Thailand sweeps Chinese crimes

Overdue tourists in Thailand will be listed in blacklist and banned to come back the country from 1 to 10 years.
Criminal Devision and Thailand immigration police have being focused on Chinese criminal gangs. According to Bangkok Post on January 11, we impersonate tourists to Thailand and stay, then open swichboards to make fraud credit card and passport.

This country’s police has detected at least three suspects having illegal activites in the last year. In earlier of this year, Thailand captured a Chinese gang including four men and three women in the age from 31 to 53, they are master in doing fraud credit cards and passports and cause the loss of Baht 3 million (about USD $82,500). The 182 fraud credit card, card reader and other equipment are confiscated.

The Deputy of Criminal Devision said this kind of crimes explode when China’spopulation using credit card speeds up in 3 recent years. Vice President in charge of preventing cybercrime of Siam Commercial Bank (Thailand) PongsitChaichutpomsuk said we pervade online accounts and steal card’s transaction information in the stores in China.

Continously, we use the information to do fraud credit cards and then buy high-standard goods in Thailand such as gold. We also do fraud passports to use when buying high-valued goods.

Another case happened on December 24, 2015 showed that we have sophisticated cases more. In this case, the polices captured 27 Chinese and Taiwan who are allegated to use “swichboard” to defraud victims. The gang chooses Thailand as a base after being agressively swept by Chinese police. The local police estimated the total damge about Baht 100 million (more USD 2,7 million).

We impersonate as a bank teller to check credit card or tax officer to inform tax reduction, the last our goal is to encourage “stool pigeon” to transfer money or provide information ofbank account. “We are a master in this field. We are trained to persuade and memorize specific terms of bank sector”, said Phanthana.

To solve the hurting condition, Thailand Ministry of Home Affairs declares a law taking effect on March 20. As a result, any tourist dectected overdue in Thailand will be listed in blacklist and banned to return this country from 1 to 10 years.
