EB-5 Supermarket's John Li Gains Jack Ma's Attention as He Shares His Business Philosophy in Chicago

EB-5 Supermarket's John Li Gains Jack Ma's Attention as He Shares His Business Philosophy in Chicago

At town hall of executives and small business owners in Chicago on June 10,2015, Jack Ma addressed the crowd and shared insights on his success at the helm of China's biggest e-commerce company. Mr. Ma is the founder and executive chairman of Alibaba Group, which is a family of highly successful Internet-based businesses. Ma celebrated the Internet as an ally, rather than a foe, to those in attendance.
Jack Ma is a Chinese business magnate and philanthropist who, as of November 2014, is the richest man in China and 18th richest man in the world with an estimated net worth of $29.7 billion, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Last year, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.'s Initial Public Offering reached a record breaking $25 billion.
Ma chose the name Alibaba to reflect his belief that the Internet is a "treasure island" and said that he planned to use his business as an "e-WTO" for small-businesses around the world and encouraged small businesses to market their products via his Alibaba.com website.
Mr. Ma visited Chicago as part of a U.S. road tour to court American businesses. He joined American Express CEO and Chairman Ken Chenault, the host of the town hall, in conversation at this lunchtime event which followed a private meeting with Chicago Mayor RahmEmanuel.  In the audience was John Li from EB-5 Supermarket, who was invited as a representative of Chicago's entrepreneurs. In addition to hosting a leading Chinese EB-5 website, EB5-Supermarket also radiates an array of other EB5-Supermarket sub-brands, such as Investment Supermarket, StudyAbroad Supermarket and AmericanProperty Supermarket. Like Ma's Alibaba Group of ventures, John's ambition and passion are to create an online"treasure island" that facilitates all types of transactions for EB-5 and non-EB-5 investment opportunities.
In a private moment after the event, Jack showed a strong interest in John's business vision. They share the same thoughts that China's citizens of the rising middle and higher socioeconomic classes have strong educational backgrounds and greater disposable incomes.
John has seen EB-5 Supermarket become an e-commerce leader and enabler of the EB-5 industry. This strong credibility in the market has led to partnerships with great business leaders that will provide a catalyst for EB-5 Supermarket and its sub-brands to attract additional stakeholders in the U.S. and China. Expanded ventures will include listing deals, generating customer leads, handling payments, as well as offering all related professional consulting services.
"I know it is crazy, but I don't want to separate artistry and creativity from the actual business" said John in the post-event interview, " I want to bring the digital access for Chinese investors to all kinds of investment opportunities in USA. That is what they need!"
