Bank of East Asia celebrates 90th anniversary in Hong Kong

For the anniversary year theme and logo, GH recommended that BEA focus on its bond with the Hong Kong community rather than just demonstrating the growth and success of the bank. The firm ultimately identified "Building Legacies" as the ideal theme for the anniversary year, based on the idea of the legacy as something businesses and families alike want to establish and pass on. GH's design team also developed a "Building Legacies" logo for use in all of BEA's corporate and marketing collateral during the anniversary year. The zero in the number "90" is represented as a perfect sphere to reflect BEA's solidity and international outlook, while the nine is more fluid and dynamic to demonstrate the bank's innovative spirit.

On January 2, 2009, the Hong Kong office of GolinHarris' Marketing & Brand Strategy team executed one of the largest client events in the office's history: the celebration of The Bank of East Asia's (BEA) 90th anniversary, held in the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. 

The event would ultimately attract 4,000 of Hong Kong's most influential people, including Hong Kong Chief Executive Dr. Donald Tsang and well-known businessmen such as Li Ka-shing and Stanley Ho, making news across the city the next day. GH also developed the thematic platform for the entire anniversary year.

Over 4,000 BEA senior staff, VIPs and media attended the 90th anniversary celebration, held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre's Grand Hall.
